BINNENsteBUITEN is een Kunstroute op het WG terrein, georganiseerd door WG Kunst.
Uiteindelijk komen er 50 vitrinekastjes met kunst.

As an artist, I am first and foremost a painter, although I also like to draw. An obsession with the human form is where it all started and what fascinates me until today. This form, however, is never taken literally in my work. Rather, it is a starting point to go beyond bodily boundaries, to unframe the body and reach a different kind of representation, in which suggestion and imagination play an important role.
After moving to the Netherlands, the topics of migration and displacement started to take a central role in my work. I have a particular fascination with body parts, while faces are often left undefined or outside the frame. The bodies of children, but also women and men, are my main thematic focus. My canvases can be quite large, allowing extensive experiments with composition, and rather small, zooming in on details of what I have observed. I take clues from both art history and (local) news media, as my images are a critical response to contemporary image regimes that favour rich, youthful, and successful people, especially on social media. For me, painting is like breathing, eating, and sleeping .
Gedurende de lenteperiode presenteert WG Kunst BINNENsteBUITEN, een kunstroute in de openbare ruimte waar van kunstwerk naar kunstwerk gelopen kan worden. Een Buitenmuseum. Het initiatief is tot stand gekomen in nauwe samenwerking met Wasco, beeldend kunstenaar en winnaar Stripschapprijs 2020.
Nu de musea nog steeds gesloten zijn en met de lente in aantocht is het tijd om kunst van binnen naar buiten brengen. Veel kunstenaars hebben werk gemaakt dat onzichtbaar is gebleven voor de buitenwereld. Het publiek heeft inmiddels enorme behoefte aan het zien en ervaren van kunst en creativiteit. WG Kunst en de kunstenaars zien deze kunstroute als een cadeau aan bewoners en bezoekers van het Wilhelmina Gasthuisterrein.
In vitrinekastjes op palen, die op een aantal plekken in de gemeenschappelijke grond op het WG terrein wordt geplaatst, worden originele kunstwerken getoond. De kunstwerken zijn gemaakt door kunstenaars uit Oud West en omgeving. Het thema van het project is Lente. De kastjes zijn herkenbaar aan hun opvallende gele lentekleur.
De kunstroute start vanaf 21 maart 2021 met negen vitrines met kunstwerken. De route blijft tot 21 juni 2021. Gedurende deze periode zal de kunstroute geleidelijk uitgroeien tot een vijftigtal kastjes met kunstwerken.
